Benelux was founded in 1981 as
a manufacturer of audiocassette components. It grew quickly to become one
of the leading producers in the industry and became the first licensed manufacturer
of microcassette tapes in Hong Kong. Benelux went public in 1991 on the Stock
Exchange of Hong Kong and was subsequently acquired by South East Group in
1997. It is now the ultimate holding and the manufacturing arm of the group.
South East Group is currently trading under the stock number 0726.
Benelux's production facilities are located in Yingde (Guangdong province) and Changzhou (Jiangsu province), where molding and assembly of the core products are performed. The company has partnered with a number of universally known OEM customers in long-term relationships. Additionally, Benelux's production and assembly facilities are contracted to various companies that operates in a efficient and cost effective manner.
Headed by the sales offices in Shanghai, Benelux distributes 3.5" floppy disks, audiocassettes, CD-Rs, and other related-media products throughout China. The company recently released two new products; the CD-Protac (currently under review for patent), and the environmental-friendly correction pen and highlighter.
